FINANCIAL WELL-BEING INITIATIVE
Financial Inclusion Grants
Based on the findings of ICUF’s 2023 Economic Realities of Communities of Color report, ICUF made a multi-year commitment to address barriers to financial well-being across Iowa.
Through the Financial Inclusion Grant Program, ICUF directs funding to organizations that are advancing financial inclusion and improving financial well-being for minority populations in the areas of affordable housing, business ownership, childcare, education, employment, and health access and outcomes.

Grant Process
-
Credit Union Nominations: Iowa credit unions must nominate qualifying community organizations for those organizations to be eligible to apply for grants. Nominations are currently open through April 3.
-
Application Period: Nominated organizations that meet the grant eligibility criteria will be invited to apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $10,000.
-
Grant Awards: ICUF will review all eligible applications and disburse funds directly to selected organizations to support work that strengthens financial well-being for minority communities across Iowa.

TESTIMONIAL:
"We are so grateful for the support from ICUF and know that it is making a difference for our members... This [ICUF Financial Inclusion Grant] is going to make a big difference for our members for life (even if they don’t realize it now), and we wish all our programs would have the same level of lasting impact that financial literacy does."
