Iowa Credit Union Foundation Awards $5,750 in Scholarships to Six Iowa Students

Des Moines, Iowa—The Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF) is pleased to announce the winners of its 2011 Family Involvement Board (FIB) Scholarship award. A total of $5,750 in scholarships was given to four high school students and two post-high school students to further their education.

Each applicant was required to write a 500 word essay on “What does the phrase ‘living within your means’ mean to you? How can your credit union help you achieve this?”

Winners were selected by a panel of judges including teachers and credit union professionals.

High School Winners:
1st place ($1,500): Mary Agnoli – Communications & Catholic Credit Union (Davenport)
2nd place ($1,000): Cortney Gilson – Alliant Credit Union (Dubuque)
3rd place ($750): Jessica Symons – Dupaco Community Credit Union (Dubuque)
4th place ($500): Christina Ling – Collins Community Credit Union (Cedar Rapids)

Post-High School Winners:
Cally Bengston ($1,000): Veridian Credit Union (Waterloo)
Travis Peters ($1,000): Iowa Community Credit Union (Cedar Falls)
