Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship Winners
The Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF) recently awarded $5,750 to four high school students and two post-high school students as recipients of its Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship. This year's recipients, who are pursuing postsecondary education, are:
  • $1,500 to Kyle Hoffman, a member of Members Community Credit Union and a graduating senior at Muscatine High School, Muscatine, IA    
  • $1,000 to Emily Fishel, a member of Veridian Credit Union and a graduating senior at Cedar Falls High School, Cedar Falls, IA
  • $750 to Alyssa Kremer, a member of Dupaco Community Credit Union and a graduating senior at Marquette Catholic High School, Alton, IL
  • $500 to Christopher Hensley, a member of Meridian Credit Union and a graduating senior at Ottumwa High School, Ottumwa, IA
  • $1,000 to Megan (Carlson) Struck, a member of North Star Community Credit Union who currently attends the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine  
  • $1,000 to Bailey Wildt, a member of MEMBERS1st Community Credit Union who currently attends the University of Iowa

Register by Friday, June 2 for the ICUF Golf Classic
There are 9 days left to register for the ICUF Golf Classic on Wednesday, June 14 at Brown Deer Golf Club in Coralville!

The annual four-person, best-shot golf outing is a fantastic way to support ICUF, network and reconnect with credit union leaders from throughout the state. All proceeds benefit ICUF's mission to help Iowans build wealth, responsibility and independence with the vision to eliminate poverty in Iowa.

Broke, Busted and Disgusted, a documentary film featuring the growing student loan debt burden aired Sunday, May 21 on CNBC. Credit unions throughout the state have supported showings at schools and community centers across Iowa. Nominate a Credit Union, Individual or Community Partner in Volunteerism, Advocacy or Philanthropy by Friday, July 14
Do you know a credit union, individual leader or community partner who has demonstrated the people helping people philosophy in civic and charitable responsibility through volunteerism, advocacy or philanthropy in service toward charitable causes? Nominate them today for ICUF's 2017 Community Impact Award!

Nominations for this award will be taken from anyone active in the credit union movement. The leadership of ICUF's Board of Directors will judge nominations and present the award at ICUF Benefit Night during the Iowa Credit Union Convention on September 14 in Des Moines.

Nominations are due Friday, July 14. Nominees will be judged on the following criteria:
  • Demonstration of outstanding service and dedication toward community based or charitable causes.
  • Participation in organized activities or organizations that support the needs of the community or state.
  • Have engaged their credit union or organization in community-based or charitable causes. 

Support ICUF at Our Biggest Fundraiser of the Year!
ICUF Benefit Night will take place on Thursday, September 14 at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center. This is ICUF's premier fundraiser of the year, which supports their mission-driven programs and celebrates the philanthropic achievements of Iowa credit union leaders. Money Smart Week
John Parks, CEO of Sioux Valley Community Credit Union visited a Siouxland elementary school during "Money Smart Week" to teach them about finances with the book "One Hen: How One Small Loan Made a Big Difference." Every student in the class received a copy of the book sponsored by ICUF. Read more.
