Call for ICUF Board Nominations
On behalf of the Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF) Board of Directors, we are reaching out to Iowa's experienced credit union leaders to ask for nominations for the ICUF Board of Directors.

The ideal candidate has a passion for ICUF's charitable mission, is an experienced leader in their professional role, has experience with a charitable organization and is willing and able to make an annual gift to ICUF.

If you or someone you know are interested in serving on the ICUF Board of Directors, please complete the candidate application form and submit it to Dale Owen, CEO of Ascentra Credit Union and Chair of the ICUF Board of Directors, or Jaimie Miller, Executive Director of the Iowa Credit Union Foundation.


Candidates will be considered through Aug. 31 and formal voting will take place during the ICUF Annual Meeting on Dec. 14.
 
 
 
 
Announcing the 2016 Warren A. Morrow Scholarship Winners!
ICUF is excited to announce this year's Warren A. Morrow Memorial Scholarship winners! This year's recipients, who are pursuing postsecondary education, are:
  • $1,500 to Lucas Thormann, a member of Dupaco Community Credit Union and a graduating senior at Dubuque Senior High School, Dubuque, IA
  • $1,000 to Emily Kay Sassman, a member of Veridian Credit Union and a graduating senior at Waverly Shell Rock High School, Waverly, IA
  • $750 to Cortney Price, a member of DuTrac Community Credit Union and a graduating senior at Monticello High School, Monticello, IA
  • $500 to Anna Frerichs, a member of Linn Area Credit Union and a graduating senior at Kennedy High School, Cedar Rapids, IA
  • $1,000 to Anna-Maria Cornell, a member of Community 1st Credit Union who currently attends the University of Iowa
  • $1,000 to Abby Maples, a member of Collins Community Credit Union who currently attends Coe College
 
 
Recognize a Credit Union Leader in Volunteerism,
Advocacy or Philanthropy
Do you know a leader in the credit union movement who has demonstrated outstanding civic and charitable responsibility through volunteerism, advocacy or philanthropy in service toward charitable causes? Nominate them today for ICUF's Community Impact Award!
 
Nominations for this award will be taken from anyone active in the credit union movement. The leadership of ICUF's Board of Directors will judge nominations and present the award at ICUF Benefit Night during the Iowa Credit Union Convention on Sept. 15 in Cedar Rapids.
 
Nominations are due July 15. Candidates will be judged on the following criteria:
  • Demonstration of outstanding service and dedication toward community based or charitable causes.
  • Participation in organized activities or organizations that support the needs of the community or state.
  • Candidate has engaged their credit union in community-based or charitable causes.

ICUF Executive Director to Present at National Convention
ICUF Executive Director Jaimie Miller will discuss ICUF's impact on immigrants and refugees through facilitation of its Individual Development Account (IDA) program and other efforts at the Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees Convention in Austin, Texas May 3-5. Read more.
 
 
New Life Simulation Kit Available to Credit Unions from NCUF
Credit union organizations can now order a new Life Simulation Kit from the National Credit Union Foundation (the Foundation) to hold their own Life Simulation. This simulation is designed to help sensitize credit union organizations to the financial needs of low-wage working families. Read more.
