ICUF Executive Director to Present at National Convention —

ICUF Executive Director Jaimie Miller will discuss ICUF’s impact on immigrants and refugees through facilitation of its Individual Development Account (IDA) program and other efforts at the Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees Convention in Austin, Texas May 3-5.

Miller will serve as a panelist alongside representatives from the United Way of Dallas and the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation during a breakout session at the conference. Each panelist will provide their unique views during an interactive session designed to examine the impact of aligning strategies to address the economic security and financial integration of immigrants and refugees.

“Our IDA program serves a large contingent of immigrants and refugees in Iowa who are looking for financial security by building their assets,” Miller said. “I am looking forward to sharing our efforts and the wonderful story made possible by our partners, donors and the Iowa credit union community.”

Through its IDA program, ICUF has provided more than $1.5 million in matched savings to Iowans. In 2014 more than 100 individuals and families made asset purchases, such as a new car to get to work or investment in higher education, resulting in more than 60 first-time home purchases.
