ICUF Silent Auction
The 2015 annual Iowa Credit Union Foundation (ICUF) Benefit Night and Silent Auction was a celebration 20 years in the making and it did not disappoint.
With more than 240 credit union leaders in attendance this year, ICUF marked its 20th Anniversary, recognized the memory of one of the credit union industry’s biggest champions with its inaugural Community Impact Award and raised more than $42,000 – a Benefit Night and Silent Auction record.
The late Paul Lensmeyer, the former CEO of Ascentra Credit Union who passed away unexpectedly in 2013, was recognized with the Community Impact Award for his legacy of living the “people helping people” credit union philosophy. Lensmeyer’s wife Debbie and their sons Ryan and Brandon accepted the award on his behalf.
“We are honored to recognize the late Paul Lensmeyer,” said Helen Pearce, ICUF Board Vice President and CEO of Cedar Falls Community Credit Union. “Paul was dedicated to his family and to his community. He listened, cared and always did what’s right.”
ICUF also recognized its Board President, Dale Owen, CEO of Ascentra Credit Union, for going above and beyond the call of duty in his service to the board.
A number of sponsors, in addition to the attendees who participated in the ICUF Silent Auction, made free will donations and bought raffle tickets, made the night possible including CUNA Mutual Group, which donated $2,000 in commemoration of ICUF’s 20th Anniversary.
