IDA Eligibility

Traditional IDA Program Criteria
A person is eligible to participate in the Iowa Credit Union Foundation’s Credit Union Family Partnership IDA Program if they meet one of the following two major criteria:
1. They are eligible for the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (called FIP in Iowa) program at the time of application.
- OR –
2. They meet both of the following two sub-criteria:
  • Their household income is either less than twice the Federal poverty line at the time of application or within Federal Earned Income Tax Credit limits.
  • Their household net worth was less than $10,000 at the end of the calendar year that proceeded the time of their application.

How much money you'll receive:
  • Dollar for dollar match up to 3:1
  • Maximum match of $4,000 per family and $2,000 per individual
  • How the match works
What the money can be used for:
  • Home Ownership
  • Micro-Enterprise
  • Postsecondary Education or Training
  • Vehicle Purchase
